Hannes Brick & Sand
About

Producers of high-quality brick, crusher stone and sand products

Hannes Bricks & Sands cc (t/a Hannes Transport) was established in 1982 as a fully black-owned company perfectly positioned to make a mark in this lucrative brick and sand business sector, contributing to the vast infrastructural developments in our country today. Our factory is partly mechanized, and partly labour-intensive specifically with regard to the packing, sorting and handling of bricks.

As we help build a better South Africa for all that lives in it, Hannes Transport sources quality raw materials from the vast suppliers around the area. To create social and economic upliftment in our area, a sufficient workforce is drawn from the deposits of skilled and unskilled people of Limpopo, to create desperately needed jobs and economic stability in a poverty and unemployment-affected area. We employ mostly black women from the surrounding area.

Corporate Social investment initiatives

Hannes Bricks & Sands has a long history of offering support to community projects through its unique Ubuntu-based social investment initiatives. Our corporate social investment strategy is premised on the following principles:

The primary aim of Hannes Bricks & Sands’ Corporate Social Investment is to address community development and upliftment issues in the communities that are extraneous to its regular business activities and the community at large.

The secondary role of the corporate social investment activities is to support the development of our brand (Hannes Bricks & Sands)

Hannes Bricks & Sands’ contributions to society and community that are extraneous to its regular business activities, whether such investment is monetary, in the form of other corporate resources, or time.  While CSI may be via charitable or philanthropic giving, it increasingly serves to support business developmental objectives and leverages core skills in the business.

Rural Development
Pilot Project

N’wa-Matatani Brick Yard is an extension on Hannes Transport. It was formed as part of our Rural Development Project. Which we have set up in a previously disadvantaged area (Village).

Main focus areas:

  • Job creation
  • Poverty alleviation
  • Basic Skill Development
  • Sustainable Development

With an employment of 80% local women of which 90% is Youth; we are heeding the call to push the frontier of poverty back.

Sponsorship

Hannes Bricks & Sand brand-building activities that are undertaken for the sole reason of developing brand loyalty, profile, and equity. While it is accepted that sponsorships can have an element of social benefit, the sponsoring brand is the principal beneficiary of these activities. Notwithstanding this, it is accepted that there is often an overlap between CSI and sponsorship activities.
